You just might not realize it right now. Thanks to a contest held by the host Powell River Regals, this town of 23,000 is decked in green, complemented either by the red of the Allan Cup logo or the gold of the Regals.

ALLAN CUP PLAY BEGINS

Trail smoke Weyburn in Division 1 play
Weyburn Devils outplayed Trail Smoke Eaters but ended up on the losing end of a 4-2 score. The last goal was scored into an empty Weyburn net at the buzzer. Whitby Dunlops will play Sakatchewan's entry into the Allan Cup, Weyburn Devils, at 7:30 PM tonight. See Allan Cup Results tab at left.

Powell River gets by Fort Hotel
With just over 5 minutes left the game was tied 2-2. Fort Hotel was being assessed a penalty and Powell River scored before the referee could blow the whistle. The player being assessed the penalty really put his team in a box by being assessed a major penalty for cross checking the scoring player in the face after the go ahead goal was scored. The host team, Powell River, then scored an insurance goal while Fort Hotel was shorthanded. Fort Hotel will need to regroup as they wll take on Quebec's entry, Shawinigan Extreme, tonight at 11:00 PM. See Allan Cup Results tab at left.
